Youth Empowerment in Landslide Disaster Risk Reduction through Knowledge Sharing
          IDEA:
Identifying the importance of circulating the technical knowhow on Landslide Disaster Risk Reduction among different age groups initiating from school students (teenagers), school leavers and undergraduates in the form of direct training, forum discussions, sharing of training tools, established through collaborative efforts.
         

Prioritized Areas:

   
  • Assess the knowledge and awareness among youth on Landslide Disasters and actions to be taken during a catastrophic situation in the form of questionnaires circulated in different schools mainly in the regions highly prone to landslides and slope failures during rainy seasons.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer among the school students and immediate school leavers by experts and specialists in the field to enhance adoptability with the mechanisms involving landslide risk reduction.
  • Conduct mobile campaigns focusing on psycho-social, cultural and health care aspects that should be concerned during a post disaster event by the youth according to age and gender basis.
